On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes issued an invitation to Gunther for next week's show. He said he wanted to ask the World Heavyweight Champion a specific question.
The two stars will face each other at WWE Crown Jewel for the inaugural Crown Jewel Championship. The American Nightmare spoke about the many what-ifs in pro wrestling during his in-ring segment. One of them was what if WCW's Goldberg fought Steve Austin.
He then said that when it comes to Crown Jewel, there will be a definitive Crown Jewel Champion by the end of that night. Cody Rhodes mentioned that he wasn't going to disparage Gunther and that he wasn't afraid of him like other people are. He then pointed out that even if he was, he wouldn't bet against himself.
The American Nightmare stated that the real reason he thinks he'll leave Crown Jewel as champion is because of his daughter Liberty. He wants her to know that the name given to him was also given to her.
Cody Rhodes concluded by saying that he would like to invite Gunther to SmackDown next week, and he wants to look him in the eyes and say, "Hey champ, what you wanna talk about?" That's the question he wants to ask The Ring General next Friday on the blue brand.
