Cody Rhodes finally reached the pinnacle of his career at WrestleMania XL. A veteran believes he and three other world champions would have done well in the company in the 1980s.

Bruce Prichard worked as The Undertaker’s manager in WWE and was popular for playing many different roles, including the 'Brother Love' character. He worked with the company in the 80s and 90s and became a top star.

Speaking on the most recent episode of his Something to Wrestle podcast, Bruce talked about the superstars who would have excelled in the 80s. He named Damian Priest as one of the men who would have done well in the era, before mentioning Cody Rhodes, Gunther, and Seth Rollins’ names.

"Oh, quite a few. I think that a guy like Damian Priest. I think a guy like Gunther, Cody. I think they all would have thrived at that time. Seth Rollins, please. I think that quite a few would have thrived and been huge in the '80s."

All four stars named by Bruce Prichard are former or current world champions. Cody Rhodes and Gunther are currently carrying SmackDown and RAW forward, respectively. It shows that WWE has put its weight behind the right stars in this era and helped them succeed for the right reasons.

Meanwhile, he also named the stars who would have made it big in today’s era. Shawn Michaels, Hulk Hogan, and Randy Savage made it to Bruce Prichard’s list.

"To move the 80s into today, I think you would have to look at guys like Shawn Michaels. I think Randy Savage, absolutely. Frankly, Hulk Hogan [would be a] megastar no matter where you put Hulk Hogan, and I think he would have thrived now as he did then." [H/T: Fightful]

It would have been great to see how these superstars worked in a different era. WWE has done well to help the right talent succeed and reach the top of the industry.

Cody Rhodes and Gunther are set to collide at WWE Crown Jewel 2024

WWE may have booked itself into a corner to please the international market in Saudi Arabia. The upcoming PLE in the kingdom will crown the first-ever men’s and women’s Crown Jewel Champions.

While the match seems exciting on paper, the creative team will have a tough time handing a loss to one of its men’s champions. Cody Rhodes and Gunther will face off for the title, which will have little meaning after the show ends.

WWE could use Kevin Owens to cost Cody Rhodes the match and protect him from a clean finish. Meanwhile, Damian Priest could go after The Ring General and cost him the contest, helping The American Nightmare remain strong ahead of WrestleMania XLI.
