Shawn Michaels and CM Punk had a hilarious interaction ahead of tonight's edition of WWE NXT. This week's episode of NXT will air live from the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

NXT will make its debut on the CW Network tonight and will feature two major title matches. Roxanne Perez is set to defend her NXT Women's Championship against Giulia tonight, and Trick Williams will challenge Ethan Page for the NXT Championship with CM Punk serving as the Special Guest Referee.

Ahead of tonight's show, Punk showed up in shorts and a cowboy hat. He had a conversation with Triple H backstage but was interrupted by The Heartbreak Kid. Michaels approved of Punk's shorts but noted that he could not wear a cowboy hat during the NXT Championship match tonight. You can check out the hilarious interaction in the post below.

Punk will be in action this Saturday in a Hell in a Cell match against Drew McIntyre at WWE Bad Blood.

WWE legend shares honest opinion of CM Punk

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan recently shared his honest opinion of CM Punk and noted that the 45-year-old was a truth-teller.

Speaking with Sportskeeda Wrestling's Bill Apter in an exclusive interview, Hogan praised the former AEW star as a performer. The Hulkster added that Punk was very believable, and hoped that the veteran stayed healthy moving forward.

"First off, he's very believable. He's very, very believable in the ring. He just seems real. He's got that outlaw mentality. But the cool part about him is that he speaks the truth and he's very opinionated and a lot of people agree with his opinion. It's kind of like a lot of stuff that people are afraid to say, he'll say it. He's like a truth-teller. So he really has it figured out which is cool, which is why I'd really like him to stay healthy and not have any more accidents because I want to see this CM Punk last for years." (2:06-2:54)
