CM Punk humbled WWE legend at Bad Blood

In a month's time, CM Punk completes a year since his return to WWE after a decade. He was not only away from the Stamford-based promotion, but from the wrestling business itself, until he made a comeback by joining AEW in 2021.

WWE Hall of Famer, Arn Anderson opened up about The Best in the World on his podcast recently. He met The Second City Saint at Bad Blood following Punk's brutal Hell in a Cell Match against Drew McIntyre.

Speaking on the ARN Podcast, Anderson revealed he was "humbled" when a guy of CM Punk's stature even asked the 66-year-old's opinion on the instant classic he'd just put on with The Scottish Warrior. It reminded him that the younger generation also had something to offer to the older ones.

"The fact that he actually wanted our opinion of what we thought. For a guy in his position, that was very humbling. [...] There's much to learn about the generation before you. I know I learn something every day. So, the fact that he actually thought it had merit, it was very humbling. I'm very appreciative that he looks at the business the way that he does. Just pretty much the overall mentality of the company now is just refreshing to see," Arn Anderson said. [From 3:56 onwards]

After CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre at Bad Blood, The Scottish Warrior cited as "most underrated" WWE star

Former WWE writer Freddie Prinze Jr. singled out Drew McIntyre after the two-time WWE Champion's classic performance with CM Punk at Bad Blood.

Speaking on his podcast Wrestling With Freddie, Prinze Jr. praised Drew McIntyre McIntyre for almost single-handedly carrying his rivalry with CM Punk for the better part of the year owing to the latter's triceps injury, as a ruthless heel. And for the parts where Punk was present, the two did a stellar job of making the feud culminate in a Hell in a Cell showdown. The former writer handed out special praise to The Scotsman for his outstanding work on the mic too.

"His ability to turn that character into this selfish heel that is willing to permanently injure someone, like he turned into such an a*****e. And he’s been so good on the mic, better than he’s ever been," he said.

Both CM Punk and Drew McIntyre are away from WWE currently and it bears watching what is in store for the superstars when they finally return to action.
