WWE Superstar Chelsea Green was not in action this week on SmackDown, but she was involved in a hilarious spot on the show. After the Friday Night show, she took to social media to clarify Michael Cole's statement.

The October 11, 2024 episode of SmackDown featured a tag team match between Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair and Lash Legend & Jakara Jackson. Despite The Storm and The EST's victory, the match saw a chaotic moment.

Green and her tag partner, Piper Niven were at ringside after being denied a title match. During the bout, The Hot Mess was kicked over the announcer's table by Legend and she landed on the veteran commentator. Following her loss in the Dumpster match last week on SmackDown, the former Women's Tag Team Champion was the subject of jokes about a lingering unpleasant smell.

Michael Cole was particularly vocal about the issue as he expressed strong disapproval, claiming that he might throw up and even asked that the female WWE Superstar should get away from him. On X (formerly Twitter), Chelsea Green refuted the claims made by the legendary commentator and wrote:

"That’s absolutely false," she wrote.

Wrestling veteran says WWE is punishing Chelsea Green because of real-life spouse

In real life, Green is married to Matt Cardona (FKA Zack Ryder). After The Hot Mess returned to WWE in 2023, fans believed that her husband would also make his way back into the company.

In a recent episode of Vince Russo's The Brand podcast wrestling veteran Stevie Richards suggested that Chelsea Green's lack of a major push in WWE might be related to her marriage with Zack Ryder.

"So, I'm not saying there's anything super negative like they're trying to bury her, but she might just not be figured in just by association for being married to him. You both know how it is. It's very political and really you pay for the sins of your tag team partner, the group you're in, whoever you run up and down the road with. And in this case, maybe they're just, she's not figured in," he said.

The Hot Mess is already a former tag team title in her second run. Fans are eager to see if Green will capture a singles gold anytime soon.
