It appears that Brock Lesnar could be coming back to WWE someday in the near future, judging by recent events. According to a veteran, the time is ripe for him to face a particularly dominant star on the current roster.

The Beast Incarnate was recently referenced by both Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins on RAW. While the references were not explicit, it was quite discernible that they were talking about Lesnar. As such, many believe that he may be coming back into the active scene soon.

Naturally, a discussion about who Brock may face upon his return has gripped the wrestling community, with many suggesting it may be Gunther. Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine show hosted by Mac Davis, veteran wrestling journalist Bill Apter thought that even if the Ring General won his match at Crown Jewel, there was still ample opportunity for him to have a feud with the Beast Incarnate.

"I think what Lesnar is gonna say is okay this guy has got the World championship and he won the Crown Jewel. Well he hasn't faced me yet," he said. [4:36 onwards]

WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long also has a similar opinion

According to Teddy Long, fans would prefer seeing Gunther face Brock Lesnar rather than Cody Rhodes.

Adding to Bill Apter's comments on Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine show, the Hall of Famer stated that Gunther coming up against Lesnar would be a fresh feud for the WWE Universe and that he also wanted it to happen.

"That's what I wanna see too, because the people, they know Brock and Cody. They've seen that, okay? So with Gunther and Brock, that's all brand new. And I think that's the way they need to go with that," he said. [4:39 onwards]

It remains to be seen if Brock Lesnar is indeed making his way back to WWE in the near future.
