Alberto Del Rio worked for Vince McMahon for a combined six years before leaving WWE in 2016. In an exclusive interview, the four-time WWE world champion gave his thoughts on the allegations against his former boss.

In January, ex-WWE staffer Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon of sexual assault and trafficking. The 79-year-old denied the claims before resigning as a board member of WWE's parent company TKO "out of respect."

Del Rio said in a Q&A with Sportskeeda Wrestling that people need to hear both sides of the story to find out the truth:

"To be honest, I don't know what's gonna happen because the law system works in different ways in every state, but I can tell you this, the law system in America works and it's fair and they always find the truth. Whenever they find the truth, whatever the truth is, for one side or the other, it will be a matter of people deciding if they can take the truth or not." [1:51 – 2:25]

In 2021, sexual assault charges against Del Rio were dropped after his ex-fiancée admitted she lied about the incident. Three years on, he still receives abuse online even though his name has already been cleared.

"I'm saying this because that's exactly what happened with me," Del Rio continued. "The truth is out there. It's just for the people to see it, but there's still some people that doesn't want to see the truth. And they, for whatever stupid reason, they want to continue attacking a man that doesn't do anything more than work, work, work, and provide to his family and continue giving his best to the wrestling business." Alberto Del Rio on the world "destroying" Vince McMahon

Triple H, Vince McMahon's son-in-law, is the only member of the McMahon family who is still employed by WWE. Linda, Shane, Stephanie, and Vince no longer work for the company in any capacity.

Alberto Del Rio has always had a good relationship with Vince McMahon and believes people should reserve judgment until more details are revealed:

"So, when it comes to Mr. McMahon, it's gonna happen the same way. The law system will find the truth and they will put the truth out there, and then it's gonna be a matter of the people believing in that truth or continue to attack Mr. McMahon. Whatever it is, whatever happens, I have to say this because I don't find it fair that these days the world is just destroying him. They're just destroying Mr. McMahon and they're forgetting about the fact that none of this, none of this beautiful business would be here today, the way it is, if it wasn't for him." [2:56 – 3:38]

Del Rio added that the allegations against Vince McMahon should be "completely separated" from what he created in WWE.
