AJ Lee left WWE and retired from professional wrestling nearly a decade ago. However, a current champion still dreams of having a match against The Black Widow.
The CW Sports' official account on X recently dropped a video in which multiple NXT stars addressed their dream matches in WWE. Reigning NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez disclosed that she would like to share the ring with either current SmackDown star Bayley or former Divas Champion AJ Lee.
The Geek Goddess last wrestled in March 2015 when she, Naomi, and Saraya (fka Paige) defeated The Bella Twins and Natalya on RAW.
The 22-year-old Texan NXT star revealed that her perfect scenario would be having her dream match at WrestleMania in Houston. She claimed it would be a clean fight.
"My dream match would probably be at WrestleMania in Houston, Texas, against either Bayley or AJ Lee. It would be just a clean match. One, two, three, or submission," she said. [0:27-0:43]
Will AJ Lee return if she receives a good offer from WWE?
On Sportskeeda Wrestling's The Wrestling Time Machine podcast, veteran journalist Bill Apter discussed the possibility of AJ Lee returning to WWE. He acknowledged that fans were "dying for her to come back."
Apter claimed the former Divas Champion and CM Punk's wife would return if the company made her a good offer and crafted a "great angle" to work on.
"I think the fans are dying for her (AJ Lee) to come back. She was great when she was in the business. We don't know what she'll do—if she comes back; she's got to be physically and mentally ready, and I don't know her current situation or anything; I haven't been in touch with her. I've talked to Punk, but I think if they make a good offer and there's a great angle, that will bring her back in," he said. [20:36-21:03]
Several top female superstars, including Bayley and Women's World Champion Liv Morgan, recently urged Lee to return to WWE. It will be interesting to see if she returns.
