Sami Zayn will defend the Intercontinental Championship against Bron Breakker at WWE SummerSlam on August 3. Former WWE writer, Vince Russo recently gave his take on why only one match outcome makes sense.

On July 6, Zayn retained the title against Breakker by pinning him clean, to everyone's surprise, at Money in the Bank. The two men continued feuding on WWE RAW, after the premium live event, leading to a rematch at The Biggest Party of the Summer.

Russo said on Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing With Russo that Breakker must capture the Intercontinental Championship this weekend, and there could be no other outcome to the title match this time around.

"There's no way they can't put Bron Breakker over. Like, there is absolutely no way. Absolutely no way," said Russo. [0:23 – 0:32]

A lot has been made of the fact that Zayn has never wrestled on a SummerSlam main card in his 11-year WWE career.

According to Russo, nobody cared about the Intercontinental Champion missing so many previous SummerSlam events. He also reiterated that Breakker must win in Cleveland or his career would go nowhere.

"Who cares, bro? Who cares?" Russo said, referencing Zayn's SummerSlam history. "Well, I'm gonna tell you right now, [if] he beats Bron Breakker a second time, Bron Breakker is dead. He is dead, bro. Period. End of story." [0:42 – 0:59]

Vince Russo on WWE's perception of Bron Breakker and Sami Zayn

In recent years, Sami Zayn has become one of WWE's most reliable and versatile performers. Bron Breakker, by contrast, only moved to the main roster in February and is still making a name for himself.

Vince Russo thinks Zayn is already a favorite with WWE management, while Breakker is still new to the main roster and has yet to prove his worth.

"He [Sami Zayn] has favor with the office and Bron Breakker probably does not. You've got to [book Breakker as the winner], bro," said Russo. [1:20 – 1:29]

Before joining the main roster, Breakker won the NXT Championship twice and the NXT Tag Team Championship once with Baron Corbin. He has not yet held gold on RAW or SmackDown.
