WWE Superstars often portray different characters, which raises more questions than answers. American Made's Chad Gable recently addressed his Shorty G gimmick and why he continued to portray it despite seemingly disliking it.

In 2019, Chad Gable wrapped up his run in the tag team division and became a singles star. The 38-year-old star feuded with Baron Corbin and eventually became Shorty G. The gimmick seemingly mocked Gable's stature and saw him suffer numerous losses.

Luckily for Chad Gable, he found Otis and created Alpha Academy on Friday Night SmackDown, marking the end of the Shorty G persona. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on INSIGHT, the former SmackDown Tag Team Champion spoke about his experience portraying the questionable gimmick.

"I've often said, probably to nobody's surprise, that was a pretty low point. But again, and I don't want to get too repetitive but I was asking for opportunities on a weekly basis at that point. I was going into offices and being like, 'Look, I need to work, I need to do anything.' Because I really wasn't doing anything. So I was given the Shorty G character persona," Gable said.

The 38-year-old further mentioned that he was willing to contribute to WWE in any capacity, so he continued to play the Shorty G gimmick.

"The last thing I'm going to do, my personality, the last thing I'm going to do is scoff at it and not give it whatever I can. So I did the most I could with it. I think what it showed was that I am willing to contribute in whatever manner, if it's down here, or up here, I'm willing to contribute whatever I can and whatever is asked of me," Gable added. Chad Gable recently missed WWE RAW

Last week, Chad Gable and The Creed Brothers, collectively known as American Made, faced The Wyatt Sicks in a six-man tag team match.

Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, and Erick Rowan made their debut as a faction on Monday Night RAW. Sadly for American Made, they suffered a massive loss against The Wyatt Sicks.

Regardless of the defeat, American Made isn't going to slow down anytime soon. In Chad Gable's absence, Ivy Nile joined the group. Gable was in Paris attending the Olympics, so he did not show up on this week's WWE RAW.
