Rey Mysterio is known for being one of the stars who helped shape history through his wrestling style, which has influenced so many modern-day wrestlers. The Master of the 619 was the one chosen by a wrestling legend when it came to the idea of one last match.

Bret Hart has always been recognized as one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot in a ring, but the legend decided to share that honor with another Hall of Famer. He was asked about the one wrestler he would like to face, during an interview on The Wrestling Classic.

Bret Hart may be retired from wrestling and does not appear to be getting ready for an in-ring return, but when asked about who he would like to face, he had a ready answer. He named Mysterio, saying that the Hall of Famer was one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. He compared the Lucha legend to himself, calling him right up there with him, and added that he was really special. He chose the star for one last match.

"If I could pick one guy, it would be Rey Mysterio. I always forget Rey Mysterio, but I think Rey Mysterio is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Like, he’s right up there as the best there is, best there was, best there ever will be. He’s really good. He’s really special. Nobody can do what Rey Mysterio does." (20:26 - 20:51)

It remains to be seen if such a match ever takes place; it appears very unlikely.

Rey Mysterio has continued wrestling despite his WWE Hall of Famer induction

While Mysterio is already in the Hall of Fame, he has continued wrestling, quickly breaking records for stars with the most matches after they are inducted. He is also in a long-term on-again-off-again storyline with his son, Dominik Mysterio.

It remains to be seen if he will give up his mask when he finally decides to hang up his boots once and for all and, if in that situation, he will give up the title to none other than his son, Dominik.

For the moment, the star is leading LWO and seems to have big plans for the group. It remains to be seen if he responds to Bret Hart's message of choosing him as the person with whom he'd like to have one last match.
