WWE SmackDown was live from BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma this week.

WWE legend Mickie James recently sent a message on social media ahead of the major announcement, which was made during the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, was scheduled to make some major announcements during the show.

Mickie James sent a message at the beginning of the show saying that she would be watching the season premiere episode of SmackDown. This would turn out to be a reference to her husband, Nick Aldis, being announced as the new General Manager of Friday Night SmackDown.

"Think I’ll watch this Season Premiere after all…," Mickie James shared.

The former NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion was quick to set his mark on the show as his first decision was to bring Kevin Owens into their roster as the trade for Jey Uso. The new man in charge had an eventful night. He announced that IYO SKY would be defending her Women's Championship against Charlotte Flair during next week's episode.

Aldis was also responsible for making sure that the confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns did not result in any chaos later that night. It will be interesting to see if Aldis eventually transitions into being a WWE Superstar in the near future.
