Wrestling veteran Booker T has reflected on getting inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. He revealed that he was against it at first, as he felt that he was still young.

The 59-year-old star has accomplished a lot of things in his career. He has won five world championships in WCW and one in WWE. He is also a former King of the Ring winner and is recognized as the eighth Grand Slam Champion under the original format. He currently works in NXT as a commentator.

Speaking on the latest edition of the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T stated that he wasn't very excited when he got the call to go into the WWE Hall of Fame as he was worried that it meant his career was over.

"I didn't think it was right, I felt like I was way too young. I thought it was too early for me to go into the Hall of Fame. I really wasn't ready yet because I felt like I was going into the Hall of Fame, that meant my career was over. Everything I did was going to be pretty much, you know, putting me out to the pasture, so I was like, 'Man, I don't know if I'm ready for this,'" he said. [46:55-47:20]

Booker T says he never saw himself going into the WWE Hall of Fame

Even though Booker T said he never imagined becoming a WWE Hall of Famer, he got inducted twice. He went in the second time in 2019, along with his brother Stevie Ray, as a member of Harlem Heat.

Booker said he was more focused on being the best wrestler, and that a Hall of Fame induction wasn't on his radar.

"But, you get a call to go into the Hall of Fame, something I never thought about either. I never saw myself going into the Hall of Fame. That's just never something that was on my radar. I really, really, I always just wanted to be the best wrestler," said Booker. 47:20-47:35]

Booker T is currently retired from in-ring competition. He competed in his last match at last year's Royal Rumble.
