With WWE having one of the most successful runs that has not been seen for decades, a 55-year-old veteran has taken a hiatus. The personality in question is Michael Cole, who has been with the company for more than two decades now.

Throughout his career, Cole hasn't missed many shows. However, the veteran missed this week's WWE SmackDown, which surprised several fans.

WWE RAW commentator Wade Barrett filled Michael Cole's absence on the blue brand this week. At the start of the show, Corey Graves announced that Cole wasn't present due to a 'special assignment.'

However, the veteran has now revealed the real reason for his absence from the show. In an interview with WFAN, Michael Cole revealed that he was off to Cozumel, Mexico, on a 10-day family vacation, which was undoubtedly a well-deserved one.

Michael Cole is set to return to WWE RAW very soon

While Michael Cole is currently a part of the SmackDown commentary team, he will return to the red brand very soon. The Stamford-based company is set to make history with its longest-running television show, RAW, finding a place on Netflix.

While the network's debut episode is anticipated to mark many surprises and returns, Michael Cole has revealed that he will also return to the red brand.

During his interview with WFAN, the veteran stated that he would be back on RAW once the show moves to Netflix. Cole also revealed that he had signed a new contract with the company, ensuring he still has a "lot left" in himself.

Cole is undoubtedly one of the biggest reason for the engagement and excitement among the fans for the product. It would be interesting to see when the company decides to induct him into the Hall of Fame.
