50-year-old veteran blasts WWE for not utilizing Omos

Omos' rise to a prominent position in WWE last year received a mixed response from fans, especially during WrestleMania season. The event was taking place in Los Angeles, California, and the company hand-picked The Nigerian Giant as Brock Lesnar's opponent.

Even with a loss, Omos shined. He followed this high-profile match with another. This time, against Seth Rollins at Backlash in Puerto Rico. However, shortly thereafter, he was removed from the program. He then only made rare appearances. His manager, MVP, left WWE after his contract expired on August 16, 2024.

Speaking on the K&S WrestleFest virtual signing, MVP had some strong words directed at his previous employer. He blamed WWE CCO Paul "Triple H" Levesque's vision for affecting Omos' booking. He further went on to state that anybody who cannot see the value of The Nigerian Giant are simply "idiots":

"I don't know what they plan on doing with him, but if you can't take a legitimate 7-foot 3-inch, 385 pounds....if you can't make money with a 7-foot 3-inch, 385-pound former basketball player that can move. You don't see him move a lot because they don't want him to. When he wants to move, you'd be surprised how well that big man can move. If you can't make money with that then you're just an idiot," stated MVP. [H/T: Fightful.com]

MVP began managing Omos in 2022 after turning on Bobby Lashley. The Hurt Business had split, but the veteran continued to work with The All Mighty until he decided he had enough of the two-time WWE Champion. Actually, it was not MVP's idea.

MVP disclosed what former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon asked of him

MVP has been very vocal about his disappointment with the disbandment of The Hurt Business. However, he also noted that he was a huge supporter of Omos, and wanted to see the latter succeed in the sports entertainment giant.

He revealed that it was Vince McMahon who asked him to help The Nigerian Giant reach the next level. McMahon acknowledged the former United States Champion's efforts for Bobby Lashley which proved good results. MVP was ready to share his wisdom with the 30-year-young giant:

"When Vince called me and Bobby in the office, he said, 'Hey guys, I want to split you guys up. Bobby, I want you to be a standalone star now. MVP, I want to put you with Omos. I want you to do for Omos what you did for Bobby.' Those were Vince's words. 'Okay.' I'm not happy about this, but I look forward to the task. Omos has such a huge heart. Literally and figuratively. He really wants to learn, wants to get better. He was an open book. Coachable," the veteran said.

It remains to be seen when Omos will rejoin WWE TV. He is not part of any show's roster in particular. The Nigerian Giant is among the elite list of free agents within the company. As for MVP, he asserted that his in-ring career is far from over.
