Current WWE NXT Superstar Shawn Spears has discussed his future in wrestling during a recent interview. He stated that he doesn't want to leave the company.

The Chairman used to compete in the wrestling juggernaut as Tye Dillinger, but he left in 2019 after his release was granted and signed with AEW, which was still a new promotion at the time. Following an underwhelming run in the Tony Khan-led promotion, he made a surprise return to NXT six months ago and kept the ring name that he used in AEW.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet, Shawn Spears stated that he's currently in a good place in WWE and NXT, and wants to remain in the company until he retires.

"I can say wholeheartedly that I am in the right spot right now in WWE and NXT. And I'm very confident to say that I will retire and finish everything here. I don't want to go anywhere else, and that's not a shot to anybody else. It's just I feel that everything that has happened in my career, everything's taken place in my life as a human, as a performer, it all led to be in this exact spot sitting with you right now talking about how good things just happen to work out. Life is good," said Spears.

Shawn Spears says he reached out to Triple H about returning to WWE after leaving AEW

The Chairman made a surprise return to NXT in February and attacked Ridge Holland, leading to a feud between the two stars.

Shawn Spears told Chris Van Vliet that after he left AEW, he spoke to Triple H about potentially returning to WWE.

"I immediately reached out to Hunter and just said, I am paraphrasing. I can't remember exactly what I said, just I'm free if there's interest the ball's in your court kind of thing. He just says, What do you want to do? I said, I want to contribute. And he said, Okay, let me see what can happen."

Shawn Spear's last match was on the July 9 episode of NXT, where he teamed up with former AEW star Ethan Page. They lost to Trick Williams and Joe Hendry.
