A current WWE personnel was off TV for several weeks as he had his first child. NXT ring announcer Mike Rome returned to the show this week after his paternity leave.

A lot of things have changed under the Triple H regime, as people in WWE are now able to take time off so they can be with their family when they need to be. Not being able to take a break was one of CM Punk's biggest grievances during his initial run, but that is seemingly no longer the case today.

Mike Rome used to be a SmackDown ring announcer, but he swapped places with Alicia Taylor, who was the announcer for NXT. Taylor covered for him during his hiatus, but he finally returned to NXT TV on the September 24 episode of the developmental brand. Rome recently welcomed his first child, Salem James Romero, who was born this month.

A lot of things took place on the latest episode of WWE NXT, and even bigger things will happen next week when the show moves to The CW. Kelani Jordan successfully defended her Women's North American Title in the opening match and Stephanie Vaquer made a surprise appearance in the main event.

Next week, both Ethan Page's NXT Championship and Roxanne Perez's NXT Women's Title will be on the line in what promises to be a blockbuster episode.
