On the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, LA Knight defended his United States Championship against Carmelo Hayes. The two were confronted by another star during the match.

Last week on the blue brand, Melo defeated AJ Styles via referee stoppage to earn the right to challenge for the title. The Phenomenal One sustained an injury during the bout and did not appear on this week's show.

During the US Title match on WWE SmackDown tonight, LA Knight took down Carmelo Hayes with a series of punches and a clothesline. He then sent the latter to the floor and hit him with a sliding kick. Andrade then showed up at ringside unannounced.

Knight hit the 30-year-old star with an elbow drop on the apron and slammed his face on the announce table multiple times. Back in the ring, he nailed Melo with an inverted atomic drop and a clothesline. Knight then hit the pop-up powerslam and an elbow drop for a two-count.

The champion ran into a superkick but he took down Carmelo Hayes with a neckbreakker and followed it up with a flying elbow drop. In the end, LA Knight hit the BFT and won the match. He is still the United States Champion.
