Gunther is gearing up for an important match at WWE Crown Jewel this year, facing Cody Rhodes in the main event of the PLE. However, a veteran thinks he will be stopped from coming out on top by another legendary name.

With Triple H unveiling a new title at Bad Blood, fans are waiting in excitement to see who will be the first-ever Crown Jewel Champion. As revealed in Atlanta, Gunther and Cody Rhodes, the two current top champions of RAW and SmackDown are slated to face each other.

On Sportskeeda's The Wrestling Time Machine hosted by Mac Davis, Bill Apter expressed his belief that Gunther would not win the match. He cited the confrontation between the Ring General and Goldberg as the reason.

"Gunther insulted Goldberg in front of his family. So I think what's gonna happen at Crown Jewel is Gunther against Cody and Gunther is gonna get speared somehow by Goldberg and that's gonna cost him the match. That's what I think is gonna happen." [1:33 onwards]

Another WWE veteran wants Goldberg to face someone other than Gunther

According to Eric Bischoff, Goldberg would be better used to put over Bron Breakker rather than pitting him against Gunther.

Speaking on his 83 Weeks podcast, the former WWE RAW General Manager explained his reasons for the idea. He stated:

"Is there a way to use Rick Steiner's son ... you could use Rick, they've done a good job of establishing the Steiner brothers since WrestleMania, their name even came up a couple times tonight so the audience knows who they are and why they're being talked about. They also know the relationship with Bron and the connection to Bill going back to WCW," he added. [H/T: Wrestling Inc.]

As of now, it remains to be seen what Goldberg plans to do in WWE.
