The New Day's Xavier Woods has been going through a rough patch on WWE RAW as Kofi Kingston has been making sporadic moves without his knowledge. Recently, Big E spoke highly of his brother-in-arms and wants him to have a singles run.
Lately, Xavier Woods' frustration has grown as The New Day hasn't been on the same page or at the same level on WWE RAW. While Kingston is making moves to gain some momentum, Woods remains frustrated as these moves are not discussed with him.
In an interview with Sports Talk Philly, Big E spoke about the growing animosity and The New Day's potential split. In the same conversation, E stated he wants Woods to have more opportunities in the Stamford-based promotion, leading to a great singles run in the future:
"When I think about Woods, he’s a guy who, somehow, 20 years into his career, still feels slept on. It still feels like people don’t truly understand how good this guy is in the ring. I’d like to see him in a singles match. He’s always busting out new stuff, always doing stuff that’s creative and different. I hope he gets an opportunity to really have a great singles run. We got a chance to see that during his King of the Ring run, and I know he’s got even more in the tank. I’d love to see him get more opportunities as a single, but more than anything I just want those guys to flourish, to have great careers and to be able to write the chapters they want to write," Big E said. The New Day's Xavier Woods hasn't held a singles title in WWE
Over a decade ago, Xavier Woods signed a deal with the Stamford-based promotion and started his journey to become a WWE Superstar. After a short stint with R-Truth on the main roster, Woods approached Big E and Kofi Kingston to form a new faction.
This led to the birth of The New Day and the trio became one of the most successful factions in the company's history. Unlike Big E and Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods never got a proper shot to become a singles star in the Stamford-based promotion.
Kingston and E were successful as singles stars and gained more popularity with The New Day. This also led the two stars to become WWE Champions in the company. However, Woods has previously won the King of the Ring tournament in 2021.
