The Anoa'i family is one of the biggest and most decorated wrestling dynasties in history. The family has produced many top WWE Superstars and Roman Reigns and Afa Anoa'i are just two of these names.

Afa Anoa'i is Roman Reigns' uncle. Afa is the brother of Sika Anoa'i, the father of The Original Tribal Chief. Afa and Sika were best known for their time in WWE as The Wild Samoans from 1979-1980 and 1982-1985. They are former three-time World Tag Team Champions and were inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2007.

The Wild Samoans also played an important role in Roman Reigns becoming The Tribal Chief. After the latter defeated Jey Uso in the 2020 Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event, Afa and Sika celebrated the win with the former Undisputed Champion and awarded him the Ula Fala, which is a symbol of giving somebody "The Tribal Chief" title in Samoan culture.

Recent rumors claimed that Afa Anoa'i had passed away at the age of 81, but the rumor has been shot down by the legend's daughter, Vale Anoa'i, who said not to believe such news unless it comes directly from the family. Unfortunately, Afa's tag team partner and Roman Reigns' father Sika passed away in June 2024.

What did Afa Anoa'i's son say about Roman Reigns' being 'The Head of the Table'?

As mentioned above, the Anoa'i family has produced many current and former wrestlers, like Afa Anoa'i Jr. best known as Manu in WWE from 2006 until 2009. Interestingly, it seems like he is eyeing the same position as his family member.

In a May 2024 appearance on the Muscle Memory podcast, Manu said that Afa was the "patriarch" of the family. The former WWE star then said that since his father's health has taken a toll, he considers himself an underboss of the family and keeps them in check behind the scenes.

When the topic of Roman Reigns being at The Head of the Table was brought up, Afa Jr. said he was at the other end of that table, much like how Afa and Sika were back in the day.

"I'm at... I'm the other Head of the Table, bro. Yeah, there's two heads - he sits at one, and I sit at the other. Just like Afa and Sika would've back in the day."

It remains to be seen what happens next in the Anoa'i family's legacy both in and outside the ring.
