Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes has achieved quite a bit ever since he returned to WWE in 2022. He has worked in all three WrestleManias since 2022. He is also the man who dethroned Roman Reigns as the Undisputed WWE Champion. While each of his feats has been more glorious than the previous one, his defeating Brock Lesnar potentially remains right up there with the world title.

At SummerSlam 2023, The American Nightmare defeated The Beast, ending their feud. After the match, Lesnar lifted Rhodes' hand in the air. This moment was off-script, even Triple H acknowledged that. Unfortunately, it seems that the Undisputed WWE Champion did not return the favor in kind words.

On WWE RAW, The American Nightmare cut a segment with World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. In that, he made a reference to Brock Lesnar by claiming that he had "slain a frightening beast" before. Considering Lesnar's last act was to endorse Cody Rhodes, he could have avoided using this particular remark about The Beast Incarnate.

That being said, if Brock Lesnar returns to WWE soon, this comment by Cody Rhodes will not age gracefully. The former WWE Champion might perceive it as an insult, and decide to take matters into his hands, which he usually does.

As it is Cody Rhodes has Kevin Owens, The Bloodline, and at the moment Gunther to think about. Adding Brock Lesnar to the mix seems overwhelming and a recipe for ruining his life in WWE.

Cody Rhodes isn't the only one who made a Brock Lesnar reference on WWE RAW

It's been a while since fans have been wondering if Brock Lesnar will return to the company. Unfortunately, his name was seemingly alluded to in the Janel Grant lawsuit against Vince McMahon, and WWE has distanced itself from the lawsuit.

While there is no confirmation on where the company stands with The Beast, Triple H has revealed that WWE is open to discussions if Brock Lesnar decides to return.

On WWE RAW, even Seth Rollins referred to slaying beasts during a backstage segment with Adam Pearce, when he was reminding the RAW GM about his accomplishments. Keeping in mind that two references to the veteran during the same episode, it can be Triple H's subtle way of indicating that Brock Lesnar's return is still very much on the table.
