WWE SummerSlam 2024's match card already has five championship matches added to it. The four remaining are the matches for the World Tag Team Championship, the WWE Tag Team Championship, the Women's Tag Team Championship, and the Intercontinental Championship.
While nothing is yet known about the men's tag team championships both on RAW and SmackDown, it was rumored that the women's tag team championship would be defended on the go-home episode of WWE SmackDown for SummerSlam 2024. Coming to the Intercontinental Championship, current champion Sami Zayn seems to be the target for Bron Breakker. Breakker has been wreaking havoc on Monday Night RAW even after Zayn defeated him at Money in the Bank 2024.
On last week's WWE RAW, Adam Pearce warned Breakker not to interfere during the match between Zayn and Ilja Dragunov, but Breakker went ahead and speared both superstars. Of course, he landed himself in trouble with Pearce, but this isn't the first time it has happened. The RAW General Manager has had enough trouble with Bron Breakker, but might still have to book him for a title match at SummerSlam 2024.
Breakker was brought in at Royal Rumble 2024, reportedly as Brock Lesnar's replacement. Since then the star has been on a rampage, even taking out Ricochet and other top stars. After last week's action, Pearce should ideally suspend Breakker but he has already suspended Drew McIntyre, and can't go around suspending every top superstar.
Hence, Pearce can let Breakker know that while he isn't happy with the youngster's actions, he will book him for the Intercontinental Championship match because higher management is putting pressure on the WWE RAW GM. While that will be kayfabe, ideally, WWE can use this time to write Sami Zayn off television for a while following SummerSlam 2024 and prepare for his inclusion in The Bloodline Saga given the pivotal role he played in it as the Honorary Uce.
Breakker can run riot in the title match at SummerSlam and even go on to win it.

As mentioned above, Breakker attacked Zayn on last week's RAW after Adam Pearce booked Zayn vs. Dragunov. While it's understandable that WWE is stretching out the feud, veteran Vince Russo believes the feud should have been over.

If Adam Pearce books Sami Zayn vs. Ilja Dragunov for SummerSlam 2024, there is a high possibility it will be changed to a Triple Threat match involving Bron Breakker before the premium live event!
