In what has been a long line of heel and face turns, former WWE Champion The Miz struck again with his latest heel turn. Following weeks of frustration, The A-Lister betrayed his friend and tag team partner, R-Truth.

Karrion Kross got in Miz's ear after Braun Strowman tried to do away with Bronson Reed. While having the A-Lister turn heel shakes things up a bit in WWE, it's not a groundbreaking change.

Following weeks of confusion as to why Cody Rhodes would ally with Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens did the same after Bad Blood concluded.

While Owens is great at his job, like The Miz, he has turned back and forth too many times to truly have a lasting impact. If any of the next four massive heel turns went down, WWE would never be the same.

#4. Kofi Kingston has been a fan favorite for years

The current angle between New Day members Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods is telegraphing a heel turn for the latter. He's taken exception to Kingston making decisions without consulting him.

Kingston brought in Odyssey Jones for backup without telling Woods. He also asked the LWO to back them up in their title match with the Judgment Day. Karrion Kross sowed doubt between the friends to add to the frustration.

Everything presented on RAW is leading fans to wait for the former King of the Ring to snap. If it's Kingston who turns on Woods, however, it would have a bigger impact.

Kofi is a beloved performer who has appeared to maintain his positivity. A Kingston heel turn would also be unexpected, heightening the impact of a potential character change.

#3. A beloved Hall-of-Famer has always stood up for others

It feels like Rey Mysterio has been a babyface for the majority of his career. That's certainly the case in WWE, as Mysterio has become one of the most beloved performers in wrestling history.

He battled villains like JBL, Eddie Guerrero, Edge, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and even his own son, Dominik Mysterio.

His place in history gives credibility to the most recent version of the LWO. A few stars have turned on the new faction, including Dominik, Santos Escobar, and Carlito.

Rey's status makes the heel turns more effective. If Rey himself were the one to turn, however, the impact would be far greater than if Dragon Lee betrayed his mentor.

#2. Bianca Belair's character is still popular but stale

Hulk Hogan and John Cena set the standard for what it meant to be a super face in WWE. Both stars routinely overcame the odds, no matter how uneven they were.

Cody Rhodes and Bianca Belair have been booked in a similar fashion. The EST has been a smiling powerhouse for the entirety of her main-roster tenure. She's won several titles and has athleticism that makes her feats of strength seem effortless.

The problem with that type of booking is that it gets old fast, especially when the opponents clearly don't have a chance of winning. That's been the case alongside Jade Cargill in the tag team division.

While Cargill is better suited to being a heel due to limited mic skills, Belair's heel turn would have much more of an impact. She's a hero to many fans and could have the type of impact that Hogan had when he turned and formed the nWo.

#1. Cody Rhodes could truly become a Nightmare in WWE

Belair's heel turn would shake up the women's division. The entire industry would be rattled If Cody Rhodes turned his back on the fans. Rhodes returned to WWE a conquering hero, becoming bigger than when he first wrestled for Vince McMahon.

He was picked to replace Roman Reigns as the face of the company and has done well in the role. The point about a potential heel turn involves impact and unpredictability. Kevin Owens turning was highly telegraphed.

It was a strong possibility and went down after Bad Blood. Rhodes has been the gallant hero during this run, and a heel turn would shake up the status quo. It would force WWE to push other stars as babyfaces and be creative.

Triple H has done a great job in charge of creative, but many booking decisions have been predictable. Cody Rhodes turning heel would be both shocking and something that could give writers a chance to adapt by writing different angles instead of "top hero overcomes overwhelming odds."
