Who could win the briefcase this year?
Who could win the briefcase this year?

Money in the Bank is arguably one of the most anticipated matches of the entire year for the WWE Universe. Not only does the match provide some incredible action inside the ring, but it also greatly affects the storylines as the winner of the match, Mr. Money in the Bank, gets a guaranteed shot at a world title at any time and place of his choosing.

This year, WWE has delayed Money in the Bank and reports reveal that the reason behind this is to hold the pay-per-view in front of a live crowd in July. That would certainly be a great idea as such a fast-paced and dramatic match deserves the presence of live fans in the arena. A Money in the Bank victory has changed many careers and made stars, the question is - who would grab the golden opportunity this year?

Let's take a look at five WWE Superstars who could win the 2021 men's Money in the Bank match. Comment down and let us know your thoughts and predictions on the same.

#5 Cesaro becomes Mr. Money in the Bank 2021

SmackDown Superstar Cesaro is in the middle of what is arguably his best singles push in WWE so far. After picking up major victories over names like Seth Rollins, he went on to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania Backlash. While The Swiss Superman was unsuccessful in defeating the Champion, he gave an amazing performance and proved why he deserves to be in the main event picture.

With Money in the Bank reportedly being planned to be in front of live fans, Cesaro winning the match and the briefcase would garner a great reaction. The former United States Champion has been part of two Money in the Bank matches but has never won it. Cesaro becoming Mr. Money in the Bank would keep the fans on the edge of their seats to see him finally win his first world championship in WWE. To say the least, he completely deserves it.

#4 Kevin Owens becomes Mr. Money in the Bank 2021

Kevin Owens is one of the most versatile superstars on WWE's current roster and could be a great choice to win this year's Money in the Bank match. In fact, he has the potential to have one of the best runs with the briefcase before eventually cashing it in to win a world championship.

Owens' main roster arrival was one of the best among any NXT Superstar as he first laid out John Cena on RAW and then went on to defeat him clean in their first match at WWE Elimination Chamber 2015. In 2016, he became the second-ever Universal Champion and had a pretty entertaining run with the title before losing it to Goldberg. Surprisingly, KO has not won a world title since then in WWE.

Having been a part of three Money in the Bank ladder matches in his career, Owens has the necessary experience. He has also been part of some memorable spots in the match in the last few years. Maybe it's time to finally have him become Mr. Money in the Bank. The best thing about Kevin Owens is that he can perfectly portray either a babyface or a heel as per the need of the hour.

#3 Keith Lee becomes Mr. Money in the Bank 2021

A possible contender from Monday Night RAW to win the 2021 men's Money in the Bank match could be Keith Lee. A former NXT Champion and NXT North American Champion, Lee gained a huge fan following during his time on the Black and Gold brand of WWE.

Keith Lee made his first impression on the main roster at WWE Survivor Series 2019 as part of Team NXT. He pinned Seth Rollins that night and almost won it for his brand before ultimately falling short to Roman Reigns. He then had a thrilling face-off against Brock Lesnar at the 2020 Royal Rumble match and fans knew that he was set to become a major star.

However, following his main roster call-up last year, he hasn't been booked very well on Monday Night RAW. Lee was all set to challenge Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship earlier this year at WWE Elimination Chamber but was pulled from the event due to an injury. He has since been absent from WWE TV but has recently teased a return through his social media account.

Keith Lee becoming Mr. Money in the Bank 2021 and going after Bobby Lashley's WWE Championship could be a great story. He had a great run as the NXT Champion and maybe his first world title reign on the main roster could start courtesy of a Money in the Bank cash-in sometime later this year.

#2 Big E becomes Mr. Money in the Bank 2021

Another top contender from Friday Night SmackDown who the WWE Universe would love to see win this year's Money in the Bank match is Big E. After ruling the tag team division for the past few years as part of The New Day, he has started his journey as a singles superstar on the Blue brand.

Big E won the Intercontinental Championship last year in the Christmas special episode of Friday Night SmackDown. He had a great run with the title before finally dropping it to Apollo Crews at WrestleMania 37 after the latter got some help from the debuting Commander Azeez.

He was one of the most popular choices of fans to win this year's Royal Rumble match and defeat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37 to win the Universal Championship. While that did not happen, WWE could take Big E's push to the next level by making him Mr. Money in the Bank 2021.

He has never participated in a Money in the Bank match in his career. But he has been part of several ladder matches. Big E winning the Money in the Bank briefcase and cashing it in on Roman Reigns on a big stage to win the Universal Championship would be an amazing moment.

#1 Aleister Black becomes Mr. Money in the Bank 2021

An interesting choice to win this year's men's Money in the Bank match could be Aleister Black. The former NXT Champion hasn't had the greatest of times on the main roster and is yet to win any title on either RAW or SmackDown.

After being away from WWE TV for several months, there were many speculations of him leaving WWE. However, his return vignettes started getting aired on SmackDown since last month in what seems to be a new and even more intriguing gimmick.

He is yet to make his in-ring return to WWE and the company might hold it off for a while before announcing him as a participant in this year's Money in the Bank match. Aleister Black was part of last year's cinematic-styled Money in the Bank match that took place at the WWE Headquarters but was unable to win it.

Black becoming Mr. Money in the Bank could open a number of storylines. While he could go after Universal Champion Roman Reigns, WWE might also switch him to RAW to cash in on the WWE Champion. Recent reports did suggest that there were plans for him to move to RAW and get a major push.
