WWE Money in the Bank Premium Live Event is scheduled to take place this Saturday at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The respective Men's and Women's Ladder Matches are the most important parts of the match card.

The winners gets a guaranteed title match in the future, which, in most cases, ensures that a new champion is being crowned. Still, there have been a few cases where the winners of the briefcase wasted their title opportunities and had an unsuccessful cash-in.

Below are five WWE stars who wasted their Money in the Bank cash-in opportunity

#5. Damien Sandow

Back in 2013, Damien Sandow became Mr. Money in the Bank for the first time in his career. He had the opportunity to become a World Heavyweight Champion when he cashed in on an injured John Cena, who was holding the title at the time.

Despite dealing with an arm injury, The Cenation Leader stood tall, and Damien Sandow failed to defeat the then-World Champion and claim the title.

#4. Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin won the Money in the Bank Ladder Match in 2017. On the August 15 episode of SmackDown, he cashed in his briefcase on then-WWE Champion Jinder Mahal.

Still, it was John Cena who interfered and cost Corbin his title opportunity, allowing Mahal to retain. This failed cash-in attempt led to a match between Corbin and Cena at SummerSlam 2017.

#3. Austin Theory

Austin Theory became Mr. Money in the Bank in 2022 and decided to go after Seth Rollins for the United States Championship instead of chasing his chance to become the World Heavyweight Champion.

After unsuccessfully cashing in on his briefcase on several occasions, Theory cashed in his MITB briefcase on the November 7 episode of RAW, but Bobby Lashley's assault led to a loss to The Visionary and a failed cash-in attempt.

#2. Braun Strowman

The Monster Among Men had a grand opportunity to become the WWE Champion back in 2018 when he emerged victorious in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Holding the briefcase and given his size and potential, it looked highly unlikely to not become a champion. Still, this was the case for Strowman.

He cashed in on then-champion Roman Reigns at the 2018 Hell in a Cell Premium Live Event, but it was Brock Lesnar's interference that ruined things for Braun.

Lesnar dominated both Reigns and Strowman, and the title match ended in no contest, meaning that Braun had wasted his title opportunity.

#1. John Cena failed to cash in at Money in the Bank

John Cena is considered a WWE legend. He has accomplished everything in his career and has set multiple records that could take years to be surpassed.

Still, one thing he failed to do was successfully cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. He won the Ladder Match back in the 2012 edition of the Premium Live Event and decided to put it all on the line in a title match with then-WWE Champion CM Punk.

The Cenation Leader cashed in his MITB briefcase on the RAW 1000, challenging The Best in the World to a title match.

Cena had opportunities to win the match, but Big Show's interference led to a Disqualification win for the 16-time World Champion. Still, CM Punk retained the championship, and Cena missed the opportunity to claim the title.
