WWE's women's division is stronger than ever, with several engaging storylines to look forward to every week.

Arguably, Bayley is the top female champion right now. The Role Model is the reigning WWE Women's Champion, a title she won at WrestleMania XL Sunday just a few months ago.

After winning the belt, Bayley defended the gold against Naomi, before putting her gold on the line against Naomi and Tiffany Stratton in a Triple Threat Match. From there, The Role Model defended the Championship against Piper Niven at Clash at the Castle Scotland.

While the reign is still relatively new, Triple H and company officials must be careful to avoid Bayley's time as champion getting stale or losing serious momentum. This article will take a look at a handful of ways that the promotion can do exactly that.

Below are four ways WWE could prevent Bayley’s title reign from losing momentum in 2024.

#4. She should have more main event segments and matches

Perhaps the most obvious way that Triple H can avoid making Bayley's WWE Women's Championship reign lose momentum is by keeping her in a top spot. This means that Bayley should be in main event segments and matches.

For a long time, female performers main eventing a television show for WWE felt borderline impossible. There is a reason why Trish Stratus vs Lita from two decades ago has been stuck in people's minds for so long. At the time, two women headlining a show was an outlier and not the norm.

Today, it is more common, as even the Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan story headlined RAW this week. That angle has a lot of momentum, and Bayley will have plenty, too, if she is positioned in a similar way.

#3. Bayley should defend the WWE Women's Title more frequently

Another way to make a title reign have consistent momentum is by having the belt defended more often. For example, Seth Rollins, as the World Heavyweight Champion, saw many title defenses early on, which gave WWE fans something to be excited about regularly.

This isn't always the case, however. Roman Reigns, as the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, defended his title far less frequently than most. Even Rhea Ripley, as Women's World Champion, put the belt on the line less often than some fans may prefer.

Still, generally speaking, more defences mean more intrigue. If Triple H wants to keep Bayley's momentum going, having her defend the belt at least every month if not more frequently, maybe the best approach.

#2. More time should be invested in Bayley

Women in pro wrestling have had quite the battle. They went from being a sideshow act to being essentially off television altogether. Later on, they gained a prominent role again, but this time as sexualized divas.

The current crop of WWE women have it better than any prior generation. There is a wealth of talented performers, multiple titles, and fan intrigue. Still, there is more work to be done, and part of that comes in the form of focusing on top stars.

For Bayley to keep momentum, Triple H needs to make sure she has adequate screen time every single week. Cody Rhodes, Liv Morgan, and Damian Priest are plastered all over television. Bayley should be used in the same manner to not lose momentum as a champion.

#1. The promotion must make sure she's involved in compelling stories

Bayley's journey to becoming the WWE Women's Champion was one of the most fascinating storylines heading into WrestleMania. Thanks to the rise of Damage CTRL and the stable turning on The Role Model, it had a few years of build behind it.

Fans were fascinated by the drama of the angle, and it felt both intense and wonderfully well-written. There was plenty of backstory, and every move made sense. It could be argued that the Damage CTRL saga was the number two story in the build-up to The Show Of Shows.

Realizing how successful the angle was, Triple H and WWE must know that compelling stories are what will make Bayley's reign intriguing. As a result, they need to rely on these stories in the future. Returning to her feud with Bianca Belair or some kind of story with Naomi and Bayley's friendship ending could be the necessary ingredient in making the perfect cake that is a quality title reign.
