SmackDown has been heating up in recent weeks as Bash in Berlin inches closer. Roman Reigns has returned, and Cody Rhodes has a new challenger for the Undisputed WWE Championship in Kevin Owens. Even the tag titles are getting some love, as a new No.1 contender will be decided this week in Orlando, Florida. But the WWE Universe could be in for even more excitement as a four-time champion may finally turn heel after two years.

The four-time champion in question here is DIY's Tommaso Ciampa. The Blackheart was last a heel in 2022 when he aligned with The Miz. However, since reuniting with his brother-in-arms, Johnny Gargano, he has been beloved by the WWE Universe, much like DIY was during their time on NXT. That being said, recent setbacks and pent-up frustration could see Ciampa backstab Gargano once again, this time on SmackDown.

All the pieces for this heel turn are in place. Despite becoming WWE Tag Team Champions, DIY had a short and somewhat disappointing title run. A run that lasted less than a month. This in itself could prompt Ciampa to once again explore a career as a singles star. So, should DIY lose to the Street Profits this week on SmackDown, don't be surprised if the Blackheart turns on Johnny Wrestling.

Perhaps the only thing that makes this hypothetical heel turn imperfect is the fact that it's not in Chicago. Regardless, this is just speculation, and there is no telling if Ciampa plans on turning heel in Orlando.

Roman Reigns is scheduled to appear on this week's SmackDown as well

Last week, the WWE Universe was giddy with excitement for the return of Roman Reigns. The Original Tribal Chief made his presence felt towards the end of SmackDown, where he made an emphatic statement by taking out The Bloodline all by himself. But one short appearance just wasn't enough.

With that in mind, Triple H and WWE have managed to book yet another Roman Reigns appearance, this time in Orlando, Florida. That's right, fans in attendance will get to see the 39-year-old in the flesh. Hopefully, this time around, he will be given a chance to get on the mic.

It's safe to say that this week's episode of the blue brand will be eventful. What will Roman Reigns do? Who will become the new No.1 contender for the WWE Tag Team title? Only time will tell.
