On tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, The Bloodline (Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa) will defend the WWE Tag Team Championships against DIY and Street Profits in a Triple Threat Tag Team Ladder Match.

The Bloodline won the WWE Tag Team Championships when Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu defeated DIY on the August 2, edition of SmackDown. However, Solo Sikoa later made Fatu give his title to Tonga Loa, and the Tongans have had control of the belt since.

If one thinks of it, being WWE Tag Team Champions is important for the Tongans, given they are still finding their way in WWE. However, there are signs they could lose the belt on SmackDown tonight. In this article, we will look at four such reasons why Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa could end up losing:

#4. The Bloodline lacks experience in ladder matches

As mentioned above, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa made their WWE debuts after WrestleMania 40. Before this, they were busy building a name for themselves in Japan; however, based on stats, it seems like the duo has never competed in a ladder match of any sort.

Ahead of the upcoming Triple Threat Ladder Match, a stat like this is simply worrying because the lack of experience could cost them the WWE Tag Team Championships. This is something Street Profits and DIY can take advantage of.

#3. The Bloodline might not be able to justify being Tag Team Champions shortly

If The Bloodline ends up retaining the WWE Tag Team Championships on SmackDown tonight, they might not be able to justify their run in the future. As WWE fans already know, the Tongans are heavily invested in Solo Sikoa's fight against Roman Reigns.

With Survivor Series: WarGames approaching and speculation suggesting the WarGames match will be between Roman's faction and Sikoa's Bloodline, Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa might not be able to give their full attention to the Tag Team Titles.

Eventually, this could hold up the entire division, which could make fans lose interest in tag team competition. Hence, Triple H could very well book Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa to lose the titles.

#2. Street Profits are favorites ahead of this match

When the three teams competing tonight are compared based on their records in ladder matches, The Street Profits are clear favorites to win. While the Tongans have never competed in ladder matches, DIY have competed in two ladder matches and lost both.

The Street Profits, on the other hand, have competed in one ladder match and managed to win during their time on NXT. This is a massive advantage that can't be ignored. Apart from that, the fact that The Street Profits have not won a tag title since 2021 is another reason they are favorites to win.

#1. Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes could cost The Bloodline

At WWE Bad Blood, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes will team up to face Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. While Reigns and Rhodes are favorites to win, the only fear they would have is possible interference from the Tongans, which could ruin the party for Reigns and Rhodes.

Hence, on SmackDown tonight, the two former rivals could come together and take out Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa in a way that they lose the titles and are deemed unfit to interfere at Bad Blood. A scenario like that would certainly be a setback for The Bloodline.
