Alexa Bliss will go down as a legend in WWE's women's division when it is all said and done. The Goddess has managed to capture the RAW Women's Championship, SmackDown Women's Title, and the Women's Tag Team Championship.

Beyond those accolades, she has been part of numerous memorable moments and feuds. Alexa is well known for her stories with top names like Ronda Rousey, Bayley, Bray Wyatt, and others.

Recently, The Goddess has been in the news. After being out of action for over a year and a half, Bliss teased an imminent return to the ring. While some reports have attempted to dispute rumors of her comeback, it appears that the former world champion could be returning soon.

While the thought of Alexa Bliss returning is exciting, there are certain mistakes that Triple H and World Wrestling Entertainment must avoid when booking her. This article will take a look at four errors WWE should not make with Bliss’ imminent in-ring return.

#4 WWE must allow Alexa Bliss to get rid of ring rust before returning to the squared circle on TV

Alexa Bliss has been away from WWE television for quite some time. Her last match was at the 2023 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event. Bliss lost a singles match to Bianca Belair on the show.

Following that loss, Alexa didn't wrestle again and soon disappeared from television. It was later disclosed that The Goddess was pregnant, and she went on to have a child. Now that time has passed, she is seemingly looking to return to a WWE ring.

That said, a return to the ring after a year and a half is a tough task, especially after giving birth. As a result, Triple H and World Wrestling Entertainment officials need to be careful not to let Bliss set foot inside the squared circle with ring rust. She needs to wrestle dark or live event matches first to be fully ready for television.

#3 She shouldn't be rushed into a title match

Just as it isn't wise to rush Alexa Bliss back to WWE television without giving her the chance to become ring-ready, the company should also be wise about which spot they put her in. More specifically, Alexa shouldn't immediately chase a championship.

There are four main roster championships she could potentially pursue. This includes Liv Morgan's Women's World Championship, Nia Jax's WWE Women's Championship, the Women's Tag Team Title, and the Women's Speed Championship, which is set to be introduced.

While a former world champion challenging for any of those titles makes sense, Bliss must be given time to adjust to wrestling again and establish her character. Plus, it would be wise to look out for any lingering health complications before throwing her into such a major spot.

#2 Alexa needs to have a compelling storyline

Vince McMahon is long gone from WWE, and to most fans, that's a very good thing. His controversial style of booking television no longer exists in the company, thanks to Triple H and his team.

One thing Triple H emphasizes is storytelling. If you look up and down the card on RAW and SmackDown, there are compelling stories, feuds, and character arcs. This is true across the board, but perhaps less so for the WWE women's division.

As a result, when Bliss does return, there needs to be a storyline ready for her. Bringing a star like Bliss back just for the sake of it benefits nobody. Perhaps working with Nikki Cross could be a fun way of getting her back on TV.

#1 She shouldn't be too gimmicky

Alexa has gone through a few gimmick changes throughout her WWE career. Upon first debuting in NXT, she had a pixie-like character. That eventually developed into the Goddess person fans know and adore.

A darker side of Bliss was later introduced, and it continued to be a major part of TV during the pandemic. She carried a doll around and worked with and against Bray Wyatt. While a lot of this was fun, much of it was over the top and based on theatrics.

When Alexa Bliss returns to WWE, it would be a mistake to keep her going in that direction. If she continues to portray the eerie persona, it must be toned down, much like how The Wyatt Sicks isn't supernatural compared to The Wyatt Family.

Alternatively, Alexa could return with her Goddess persona or with an updated gimmick altogether. Regardless, if she is spooky, it needs to follow a more realistic style to fit the tone of today's product. Otherwise, the gimmick will stick out like a sore thumb.
