3-time champion to cost Carmelo Hayes the US Title on WWE SmackDown? Exploring potential help for LA Knight

In the upcoming edition of WWE SmackDown, LA Knight will defend his United States Championship against Carmelo Hayes in singles action. This clash comes after Hayes defeated AJ Styles last week, with the latter unable to continue owing to an injury. Before the encounter, The Megastar had promised a title shot to Hayes if he managed to beat the veteran.

Now that the 30-year-old has the opportunity at hand, he will look to do anything he can to win his first title on the main roster. However, there is a chance a three-time champion in WWE could rob Hayes of this opportunity. That superstar is Andrade.

Before Carmelo Hayes' rivalry with LA Knight, the former NXT Champion was involved in a feud against Andrade. The duo had a series of matches, which is currently tied at 3-3. Given this status, it won't be surprising to see Andrade attack Hayes to cost him the title.

Doing something along these lines will not only add a new flavor to Andrade's feud with Hayes, but it will also allow him a chance to get back in the United States Championship picture.

Current WWE Superstar expresses interest in LA Knight's United States Championship

When one looks at the current champions on SmackDown, it's hard to see Cody Rhodes lose the Undisputed WWE Championship anytime soon. This means male superstars on the brand who aspire to win singles gold can realistically pose a challenge for the United States Title.

Recently, a WWE Superstar on the blue brand did the same as he expressed an interest in LA Knight's United States Championship. The superstar with these title ambitions was none other than Baron Corbin. Taking to his X (fka Twitter) account, Corbin gave proof of his interest in becoming the US Champion.

A user on X had posted a photograph of Corbin from the time he was United States Champion. In the caption, the user wrote that Corbin winning the title was something that was needed.

The former NXT Superstar quote tweeted the post and expressed his desire to win the United States Championship again.

"I agree!! Just need the opportunity!! I’m fighting like hell for it . Let’s go," wrote Corbin.

While Baron Corbin is currently teaming up with Apollo Crews, at some point shortly, he could face LA Knight for the title. The reason why a match between Corbin and Knight would be interesting is because the two veterans have never faced each other before.
