CM Punk will return to his hometown of Chicago to appear on WWE SmackDown this Friday (June 21). The Best in the World confirmed this appearance during the press conference after Clash at the Castle last Saturday, June 15.

CM Punk is expected to address his actions during the World Heavyweight Championship match between Drew McIntyre and champion Damian Priest, where he cost The Scottish Warrior the title shot.

With that in mind, let's examine three things that the RAW superstar should do when he appears on SmackDown.

#3. Starting a feud with The Bloodline

It is very likely that once CM Punk appears on SmackDown, he will become a target for the new Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa), which made its presence felt after WrestleMania 40.

The faction continues to make statements, and it would make sense to target another top star after attacking the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes at Clash at the Castle.

Should this happen, it could set the tone for a future feud between The Bloodline and The Best in the World, either on SmackDown or RAW. Moreover, Kevin Owens and Randy Orton might come to his aid, fueling their battle with the faction.

#2. Addressing his actions at Clash at the Castle

CM Punk stole the spotlight on Saturday, where his interference as a special guest referee determined the outcome of Drew McIntyre vs Damian Priest. Interfering in the match was a likely scenario, but nobody was expecting Punk as a match official to happen.

Thus, The Best in the World could address his actions in the premium live event and reiterate that his primary target remains to prevent The Scottish Warrior from becoming a world champion again. Over the past two months, Punk has cost McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship three times.

#1. Challenging Drew McIntyre to a match at SummerSlam

Drew McIntyre stunned the fans on RAW this week. He entered the ring after what happened at Clash at the Castle and quit WWE. He will not leave the company, but this segment was part of the storyline with CM Punk.

With that in mind, The Best in the World could provide an update on when he will be medically cleared to compete, which is expected to happen soon.

Thus, it would make sense for Punk to challenge McIntyre to a match at SummerSlam. That way, he will set the tone for his rival's return after walking out on Monday, while he could raise the stakes and hint at a stipulation (Steel Cage, I Quit Match, etc).

In addition, it would make sense for the two to collide at SummerSlam since they will not be part of the title picture as Damian Priest will put his World Heavyweight Championship on the line against the 2024 King of the Ring Gunther.
