The July 19, 2024, edition of WWE SmackDown will mark its 1300th episode, an impressive achievement but also a special number for Roman Reigns. However, fans may have to wait a bit more to see The Head of the Table on television again.

Roman Reigns has been absent from SmackDown and the company programming in general since losing the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, which he held for 1300+ days, at WrestleMania 40. Solo Sikoa has since assumed the position as the new Tribal Chief of The Bloodline, taunting and even neglecting his cousin. Although there have been reports that The Head of the Table will return soon for SummerSlam, it might not happen this week.

For this list, we will look at three reasons why Roman Reigns might not appear this week on WWE SmackDown for its 1300 episode.

#3. Scheduling conflict in regards to WWE SmackDown's taping

This week's Friday Night SmackDown will air live at CHI Health Center in Omaha, Nebraska. However, next week's show, July 26, 2024, will possibly be taped in preparation for the company's Japan tour from July 25 to 27.

With this in mind, this means the episode for the 26th will immediately be taped after the show this week. Due to this situation, it's unlikely that Roman Reigns will appear since the company may want to keep his appearances minimal.

#2. WWE SummerSlam is set to have a bigger stage

Although the Stamford-based promotion's weekly shows have proven to be a must-see affair as they also feature numerous exciting matches and surprise appearances, nothing beats the stage that a premium live event will bring.

The 2024 SummerSlam is shaping up to be one of the biggest events of the year and many fans around the world will be watching, especially with the possible returns it could bring. Due to this, WWE may want to hold on to The Head of the Table's return so it could happen on a big premium live event and will give fans more things to look forward to.

#1. Roman Reigns could easily have Jimmy Uso deliver a message

Another WWE SmackDown star fans are waiting to return is Jimmy Uso, who Solo Sikoa kicked out after WrestleMania 40 and replaced him with Tama Tonga. Although Roman may have a lot to say to the former NXT North American Champion, then so does Jimmy.

If Reigns wants to send a message to Solo, he could simply say it to Jimmy, who is more likely to return soon after being medically cleared to do so. Also, this could ensure that the former Tag Team Champion will have the spotlight to himself when he returns and won't have to share it with Roman Reigns.
