NXT TakeOver: New York was probably the best TakeOver we have ever seen. WWE TakeOver: New Orleans last year was great, but this show was incredible. One of the best wrestling shows I've ever seen. And I've seen a lot of wrestling.
As always, NXT call-ups will probably happen this year after WrestleMania. Looking at this show there are some obvious candidates to be called up and join the main roster which you could see as a blessing. Looking at recent call-ups though, it seems to be the opposite of that.
It is obvious that after their loss to the War Raiders, Ricochet and Aleister Black are being called up as they have been on Raw and SmackDown for weeks, and they are on the WrestleMania 35 card. So we won't be putting them on the list as Mauro Ranallo basically told us on commentary that this was their last night in NXT.
#3 Kairi Sane
Kairi was one of the three superstars that lost to Shayna Baszler last night, but out of the three, she has the least left to do in NXT.
She has already won the NXT women's title and because of that, it seems like her time could be up in NXT. If Shayna is going to lose the belt in the near future, it makes more sense to put the title on Io Shirai or Bianca Belair so they can build a new top star in the division.
Hopefully, she will not be as badly used on the main roster like some other call-ups like Ember Moon. She definitely has the ability and potential to be a top star in the future women's division. And maybe one day we will see her vs Io Shirai on the main roster. Hopefully, we do.
#2 Pete Dunne
Pete Dunne was defeated at TakeOver by Walter in what was a great match.
Dunne was the NXT UK Champion for 685 days, and now he has lost the belt, it should be the time for one of the UK's best to be put on the main roster.
Dunne could be put in the cruiserweight division, but to be honest, he is much better than that. No offense to anyone on 205 Live, but he has the potential to be the first English WWE Champion, and that could be sooner rather than later.
He can be a good babyface and a great heel, and he's an awesome wrestler, so he has lots of things going for him. Maybe they won't push him to the main roster just yet, but he has the ability to be a complete star on whatever brand he is put on.
#1 Undisputed Era
Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano had one of the best matches in NXT and WWE history at TakeOver: New York.
While the rest of Cole's faction didn't have a match on the card, they did interfere in the main event to try to help Cole win. With him loosing, however, there seems to be nothing left for these men in NXT, so a call-up could be looming.
Now, even though most call-ups have been messed up in the past, these men are hard to mess up. The talent and quality these men possess between the four of them is quite ridiculous, and on the main roster, they could have a similar role as to what they had in NXT.
Cole could be pushed to the main event immediately, O'Reilly and Fish could challenge for the tag belts, and Roderick Strong could be put into the US or IC title picture. They could cut the same promos together and if they are given the chance, could become one of the best heel factions in WWE history.
