WWE is gearing up towards its next PPV, as WWE Stomping Grounds is set to air on the WWE Network this Sunday. The match card for the event is mostly stacked up with rematches from earlier PPVs.

Important matches at the PPV like Becky Lynch vs Lacy Evans, Dolph Ziggler vs Kofi Kingston, Seth Rollins vs Baron Corbin, and Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre have already happened at least once in the last few months.

Samoa Joe vs. Ricochet for the United States Championship is one of the fresh matches at the event. It is expected to one of the best contests of the night given the in-ring caliber of both the superstars involved.

Major superstars like Charlotte Flair, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, and AJ Styles are currently not scheduled to appear at the show. But we can expect a few of these superstars to be in attendance this Sunday, in order to possibly interfere in their rival's matches.

Given that a major PPV like WWE SummerSlam is now just less than 2 months away, we can expect some character transformations of prominent superstars in the upcoming days. This will help WWE in booking fresh and intriguing feuds for the WWE SummerSlam PPV.

Here are 3 shocking heel turns that might happen at WWE Stomping Grounds.

#3 Nikki Cross

Nikki Cross has been portrayed as a face ever since she made her main roster debut. In recent weeks, she developed a friendship with Alexa Bliss on screen. Alexa Bliss has been manipulating Nikki Cross on RAW and SmackDown Live over the last few weeks.

Bliss has been making constant efforts to make Nikki Cross believe that Bayley is a self-centered and arrogant champion. On the most recent episode of SmackDown Live, Nikki Cross even saved Alexa Bliss from an attack by Bayley.

This indicates that Nikki Cross might indeed assist Alexa Bliss during the latter's championship match against Bayley on this Sunday. This might be the only way through which Alexa Bliss might emerge victorious at the event.

#2 Aleister Black

Aleister Black has been a babyface ever since he debuted on WWE NXT in 2017. He had a successful run in NXT as a mysterious babyface character for more than a year before he debuted on the main roster earlier this year. He formed a tag team with Ricochet and even competed for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles at WrestleMania 35.

After that, he was drafted to SmackDown Live during the Superstar Shakeup. He has not been in involved in any feud since he arrived on the blue brand. WWE has been airing his promo vignettes on SmackDown Live in the recent weeks. His promos indicate that Black might undergo character transformation when he makes his much-awaited in-ring return.

SmackDown Live is in dire need of a main event level heel right now. Aleister Black can potentially fill that role and become the next break out star. Finn Balor currently does not have a match at the PPV. If WWE decides to book an impromptu open challenge kind of match for the Intercontinental Championship, then heel Aleister Black will be the perfect opponent for Balor.

#1 AJ Styles

AJ Styles appeared on the most recent episode of RAW after a brief hiatus from WWE. He appeared in a backstage segment where he confronted his friends Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. He reminded them of their glory days in WWE and motivated them to get back into the groove. This segment on RAW hinted at a reunion of The Club after almost 3 years.

The Club was highly successful when the trio initially got together in 2016. The Club annihilated the likes of Roman Reigns and John Cena in 2016 before brand split forced them to part ways.

Now that all three superstars are on the same brand, the prospects for the reformation of Club have increased. RAW currently needs a fresh main event heel challenger for Seth Rollins. Although Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin are present, they have already had numerous matches with Rollins since last year, so a heel AJ Styles might be the perfect antagonist for Seth Rollins moving towards SummerSlam 2019.

AJ Styles already lost the Universal Championship match against Rollins at Money in the Bank. In order to get back at Seth, Styles might reunite the Club at the upcoming PPV and attack Rollins after the Universal Championship match.

Everyone will be expecting an attack from Brock Lesnar during the PPV, so an attack by the Club on Seth Rollins will definitely shock the WWE Universe in a refreshing way. It might set up a blockbuster Universal Championship rematch in the near future. Also, it will signal the end of Baron Corbin's interminable feud with Seth Rollins.
