The Washington Capitals take on the Boston Bruins at TD garden in both sides' second preseason game of the season. Both sides got off to a rough start in their preseason campaigns aftering losing their opening fixtures.

The Bruins lost 3-2 to New York Rangers, while the Capitals lost 6-2 against the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Washington Capitals had a rather tough start against the Flyers as they conceded six goals. They showed positive attacking intent as seen by their two goals but their defense wasn't up to the mark.


Washington Capitals key players and injuries:

Ivan Miroshnichenko and Andrew Cristall scored the goals in the first preseason game and will be hoping to add more to their tally as we head closer to the start of the new season.

Injuries to winger Alex Ovechkin and defender Rasmus Sandin are a cause of concern for the Capitals as the pair don't have a definitive return date yet.

The Boston Bruins were considered the favorites by many at the start of last season but they crashed out in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs against the eventual winners Florida Panthers.

The Bruins will look for their first win of the preseason against the Capitals after a narrow loss in their opening fixture.


Boston Bruins key players and injuries:

Cole Koepke and Trevor Kuntar came up with the goals in the loss to the Rangers. Both players will look to keep up the consistency as they fight for a starting spot in when the regular season begins.

Elisa Lindholm and Alec Regula are both out with injuries without a definitive return date.
