Looking at Florida Panthers' season recap and schedule for the remainder of the week

After winning their maiden Stanley Cup championship last season, the Florida Panthers instantly became the favorites to win it again this year.

Despite that, the team wound up undergoing a roster overhaul, with key contributors to last year's championship team departing in free agency. This led to the Edmonton Oilers, who have started the season winless, jumping into the top spot for this year's Stanley Cup betting odds.

Since the start of the season, the Florida Panthers have split wins and losses throughout their four games.

The team began the season with a 6-4 win over the Boston Bruins last week before dropping back-to-back losses on the road. First, they fell 1-3 to the Ottawa Senators before losing 2-5 to the Buffalo Sabres.

On Monday, the team snapped its two-fight skid, defeating the Boston Bruins once again to pick up its second win of the season.

Following Tuesday's game against Columbus, the team will be back in action on Thursday when they host the Vancouver Canucks in the first of three home games. The Panthers will close the week with a showdown against the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday, before getting two days off to recover.
