Meredith Gaudreau wrote an emotional message to her late husband, Johnny Gaudreau, after his tragic death. Johnny and his brother, Matthew, died in a biking accident on Thursday in Oldmans Township, New Jersey. A suspected drunk driver hit the brothers while trying to pass another car. Johnny was 31, and Matthew was 29.

Johnny Gaudreau loved spending time with his family. Off the ice, he enjoyed being with his wife, Meredith, and their two children, Noa and Johnny Jr. His family was his top priority.

After the tragic loss, Meredith shared a message to honor her husband. She posted several pictures on Instagram and wrote:

"Thank you for the best years of my life. Despite losing you, I am still the luckiest girl in the world to have been yours. I love you so so much. You were perfect. Some days it felt too good to be true."
"I love every single thing about you. You are my forever, and I can’t wait to be with you again. I love you so much forever and ever."

Meredith also shared several family photos. The photos showed their life together, from their younger days to moments at home. They included pictures of vacations, skating, playing golf, attending weddings, and enjoying each other's company. Meredith's message for Johnny displayed the bond they shared.

The driver, Sean M. Higgins, was charged with two counts of death by auto, and the investigation is ongoing.

A family man: Johnny Gaudreau's role as a father and husband

Johnny Gaudreau was truly a family man. He was devoted as a father and husband. His wife, Meredith, shared another post where Johnny can be seen with his kids, Noa and Johnny Jr.

"The absolute best dad in the world. So caring and loving. The best partner to go through parenthood with. John never missed a single appointment.
He was the best at putting the baby to sleep and the apple of Noa’s eye. I love how much she looks like him. We are going to make you proud. We love you so so so much, Daddy," Meredith wrote.

Meredith also shared several photos of Johnny enjoying family time. The pictures showed Johnny as an involved dad, feeding the kids, taking his daughter to school, and babysitting them at home and on the beach.

One touching photo showed Johnny and his daughter standing on opposite sides of the protective glass during a Columbus Blue Jackets game.
