Following Money in the Bank 2024, CM Punk threw a subtle jab at the current Stanley Cup champions Florida Panthers. Punk sarcastically congratulated the Panthers for their championship because ‘nobody's been doing that’.
The 15th edition of the annual Money in the Bank event took place at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. In the post-event press conference after Money in the Bank 2024, CM Punk started by congratulating the Florida Panthers on winning the Stanley Cup.
“I would like to start off by saying congratulations to the Florida Panthers on winning the Stanley Cup,” Punk said. “I feel like nobody's been doing that. It's not the greatest thing in the world for me either, but also congratulations to the men and women's winners of the Money in the Bank Letter.”
He implied that the achievement hadn't received much acknowledgment. Punk then extended congratulations to the male and female winners of the Money in the Bank match.
Earlier last month, the Florida Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers in seven games to lift their first Stanley Cup in franchise history.
