NHL fans on social media reacted to Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid's stern response about last season's Stanley Cup Final loss.

During an interview ahead of the season opener against the Winnipeg Jets, McDavid shut down questions about the Stanley Cup Final loss and made it clear that he wants to move on from the past. When asked about the Cup loss, McDavid said:

"Enough about last year ... we're moving on."

Connor McDavid said that they talked extensively about last season, answering numerous questions. The Oilers captain conveyed that while there are lessons to be learned from past experiences, the last year is over and that the team is now focused on the new season and the current group of players.

Analyst predicts Connor McDavid and Oilers to win Stanley Cup

Analyst Frank Seravalli, in his latest "32 Bold Predictions" column for Daily Faceoff, predicted that the Edmonton Oilers will end Canada's 32-year-old drought by winning the Stanley Cup.

He predicted Connor McDavid's Oilers to become the second straight team to bounce back from a Cup Final loss the previous year and claim victory the next season.

The Edmonton Oilers host the Winnipeg Jets at Rogers Place for the season opener on Wednesday. The puck drops at 10 p.m. ET.
