On Aug. 29, Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew tragically died in a cycling accident in Salem County. They were hit by an SUV driver suspected of being under the influence of alcohol. The accident occurred while the brothers were in town for Katie's wedding. Both died from their injuries at the scene.

Katie Gaudreau honored her late brothers by inscribing their initials, “J & M,” on her wedding ring. In a black-and-white Instagram story, Katie shared a close-up of the ring, writing:

“Forever with me now. J&M."

Katie Gaudreau pens emotional message for Johnny Gaudreau’s daughter Noa

Earlier last week on Wednesday, Katie posted a touching message dedicating her two-year-old niece, Noa. In the heartfelt post, Kaitlyn shared how much Noa means to the entire family.

Kaite expressed that Noa "saved" the family, bringing them hope and purpose in a time of immense grief. She also shared how grateful she was for being Noa’s aunt.

"I hope one day she knows she was the one that saved us. The one we look at and see John… the reason we keep going every day. Thankful to be your aunt but even more thankful I get to tell you all about your daddy and uncle and how amazing they are," Kaite wrote on her Instagram story.

Meredith Gaudreau, Johnny’s widow, later reposted Kaite’s tribute to her own Instagram story.

"She loves you as much as her daddy does. That’s a lotttt Kaitlyn," Meredith added in the caption.

Meredith and Johnny Gaudreau had two children together: their two-year-old daughter Noa and a seven-month-old son, Johnny. The couple was expecting a third child before the tragic accident.
