NHL fans on social media had various reactions as Sidney Crosby reached the impressive 1,600-point milestone. It was a memorable night for him at PPG Paints Arena on Wednesday.

Crosby scored the game-winning goal and picked up two assists in the Pittsburgh Penguins' thrilling 6-5 win over the Buffalo Sabres. This achievement made "Sid the Kid" the fifth fastest player in NHL history to reach 1,600 points.

Moreover, Sidney Crosby also became the 10th player overall to hit this significant mark and the first since Jaromir Jagr did so in 2011.

Here's how fans on X/Twitter reacted to Sidney Crosby's 1,600 points achievement. One tweeted:

"That’s my goat."

Another chimed in:

"Connor McDavid coming for that #3 spot."

Here are some of the other top reactions on X. One humorously took a sly dig at Penguins goalie Tristan Jarry:

"Jarry the fastest player to give up the most NHL goals in 2024!!!"
"Passing Steve Yzerman and Joe Sakic on how fast it took Crosby to reach 1600 points with his concussion history alone is legendary. Not to mention that Sidney Crosby is arguably an even better role model than he is a hockey player," another wrote.
"Would have recorded it faster if it weren't for them concussions," one X user added.
"Golden GOAT and humble," tweeted another.

Meanwhile, the record for the fastest player to reach 1,600 points belongs to the great Wayne Gretzky, who achieved the milestone in just 667 games.

Sidney Crosby reflects on assisting Evgeni Malkin's 500th goal

Evgeni Malkin celebrated a huge milestone by scoring his 500th NHL goal in the Pens' win over the Sabres. With his goal on the night, the 38-year-old veteran became the 48th player in NHL history to reach 500 goals.

Malkin put the Penguins up 4-3 during the third period after taking a pass from Sidney Crosby and scoring with a wrist shot.

“I wanted to [assist on Malkin’s 500th]," Crosby said via NHL.com. "Going into it, the last few games here, I wanted to find a way."

Notably, Crosby and Malkin are the only duo in NHL history to have both scored 500 goals, following in the footsteps of the legendary Oilers' duo of Jari Kurri and Wayne Gretzky.
