"Stacked lineup!" a fan said.
"This seems like what we are going to see come opening night. Obviously with Matthews in and Woll in as well as opposed to Cowan and Murray." another fan said.
"This Cowan kid is growing exponentially since Tuesday he’s gonna be 7 feet tall by the season opener," a fan said.

Here are some more reactions from fans on X:

"Where is Topi? Hasn't dressed and haven't heard a word about him since the season began." a fan said.
"Hope they pair Benoit and McCabe again at some point. They were awesome together last year," another fan said.
"Two of three games the Leafs are dressing a full roster. Berube must have lied when he was asked if he was worried about being 0-1-1 in the preseason lol," one fan said.

Toronto Maple Leafs captain Auston Matthews will not play in the preseason game against the Canadiens

Toronto Maple Leafs management announced that captain Auston Matthews will not play in the preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday. He left practice early on Tuesday due to an "upper-body thing," according to head coach Craig Berube.

Matthews missed Wednesday's practice for a scheduled maintenance day. His absence from the game is part of this planned maintenance, according to David Alter of The Hockey News.

However, Matthews joined his teammates for an optional skate on Thursday.

"Auston Matthews and Calle Jarnkrok are on the ice prior to the Maple Leafs’ morning skate. Neither will play tonight against Montreal in the third preseason game." Nick Barden said on X.

Last NHL season, Matthews scored 69 goals and earned 107 points, both career highs. He was named the Maple Leafs' first American-born captain on August 14.
