Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby revealed his "dream" five-man power play unit during an interview with B/R Open Ice.

When asked to pick his ideal power play, Crosby quickly named Alex Ovechkin, who has a massive $47.5 million contract with the Washington Capitals.

"You’re putting me on the spot right now," Crosby said. "Mario (Lemieux), Wayne (Gretzky), Ovi (Ovechkin) in his spot, (Steve Yzerman) Stevie Y. That’s a lot of righties, though. We’re thinking about scoring. We’re not worried about getting scored on."

Ovechkin recorded most power play goals - 312 - in the NHL. Crosby's dream lineup also includes hockey greats Gretzyk, Lemieux and Yserman. Gretzyk holds the no.1 spot in powerplay points, and he was known for his signature move to set up behind the net during power plays.

Mario Lemieux is also the mentor of Crosby and ranks eighth in power play goals with 236. Steve Yezerman completes the lineup as Crosby's childhood hero and a three time Stanley Cup winner with Detroit team.

Crosby considered both Ovechkin and Lemieux for the main shooter:

"Ovechkin or Mario. Vintage Wayne behind the net looking at all these different options. Mario or Ovi are probably putting them in."

Although Crosby's dream unit will never take the ice together, fans can imagine what the five legends would accomplish if given the chance.

Sidney Crosby joins elite 1600-point club

Sidney Crosby joined an elite group of NHL players, becoming the 10th player to score over 1,600 career points. The Pittsburgh Penguins captain notched up a goal and two assists against the Buffalo Sabres to reach the milestone.

"I think, it's just an honor to be part of that group;" Sidney Crosby said as per NHL.com."To be honest, I don't think about it a whole lot. Hopefully there's a lot of time to reflect after the fact. But it's just a huge honor to be in that group of guys."

Reaching 1600 points elevates Crosby to a level shared by legends like Gretsky, Jagar, Messier and Lemieux.

The Penguins lost 4-1 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night following 6-5 OT win over the Sabres, though.
