Hockey fans reacted to Adam Gretz's latest power ranking of NHL teams from the last five seasons. Gretz ranked the Tampa Bay Lightning, thanks to their back-to-back Stanley Cups in 2020 and 2021. The Florida Panthers, who won the last Stanley Cup, were placed second. The Vegas Golden Knights, who won the Stanley Cup in 2023, were ranked third.

The Colorado Avalanche, who won the Stanley Cup in 2022, were ranked fourth. The Dallas Stars, who made it to the Stanley Cup Final in 2020, were fifth.

The ranking, shared on X (formerly Twitter), sparked debate.

"Vegas over Florida in my book." One fan disagreed with Gretz.
"Oilers and Islanders 🤔" another fan shared.
"I don’t hate this list and you guys consistently bait me. 🤣 I might change a couple of things. #nyr" one fan wrote.

Here are some more reactions from X:

"A perennial top 10 nhl team that never misses the playoffs and has been more consistent than any of those teams over 5 years in Toronto somehow doesn't make this list Like way to make a whole person completely redundant going forward. Agretz doesn't know puck in the slightest" one fan detailed.
"The north does NOT know hockey, especially Canada. Note to all players if you want to win you have to play in a hockey state like Florida" a fan said.
"All the Bolts and Panthers fans in this thread not trying to kill each other. We finally made it to the good timeline. Florida on top 🐈⚡️" a fan wrote.
