Timetable for Brad Marchand’s return

CBS Sports reported that Marchand could be back for game 6 against the Panthers and Friday night at the TD Garden. As NHL.com noted, Marchand was pictured at practice. He was in full gear and looking good on the ice.

Bruins coach Jim Montgomery stated, per NHL.com:

"I will say, he looked good, but he’s got boxes to check.” Montgomery added, “Day-to-day. We had the extra day which is beneficial for all of our players with bumps and bruises that they have. We will know more (Friday)."

Marchand’s upper-body injury seems to be progressing well enough to the point of speculating he could be back for game 6.

Defenseman Charlie McAvoy expressed his optimism regarding Marchand’s return, as noted by NHL.com:

"It’s great to see him out there. He looks awesome. We’ve spoken at length about what he means to our team and the energy he brings. It’s gonna be great to have him back."

Overall, Marchand’s return could provide the club with the spark they need to rally and force a game 7. Since Marchand’s departure, the Bruins have struggled to score.
