Kyle Okposo is among the millions who faced one-of-a-kind inconvenience this Friday due to a global IT outage causing the cancellation of thousands of flights across the world. For Okposo, it came at the cost of the Stanley Cup trophy getting stuck at St. Louis Airport.

Okposo, who played a vital role in the Florida Panthers' Stanley Cup win this season, was devastated knowing he could not enjoy the planned celebrations at the Pagel Arena in Minnesota.

Following the delay, Okposo finally had his day with the Stanley Cup in his hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota, with his friends and family.

The global IT outage impacted businesses, airlines, and even the banking industry, as the issue seemed to have been primarily with Windows systems.

Where does the future of Kyle Okposo lie?

The unrestricted free agent Kyle Okposo may have a busy few days ahead of him, as the forward just completed a phenomenal second half of the season with the Florida Panthers.

The forward who started the season with the Buffalo Sabres was traded to the Panthers for defenseman Calle Sjalin and a conditional pick in the 2024 draft.

As things stand, Okposo has not chosen to provide his commitment to any franchise and remains a free agent.

The hunt for him would be one to look out for, as the forward has experience playing for the New York Islanders, the Buffalo Sabres, and his most recent triumphant stint with the Panthers.

While no club has formally approached yet, certain clubs could benefit from the signing of the 36-year-old veteran. Three clubs were allegedly in the running to sign the forward this March, which included the New York Rangers, the Colorado Avalanche and his eventual suitor, the Florida Panthers.

It would be interesting to see if the Rangers and Avalanche see this as an opportunity to head back in for the Stanley Cup winner or if any other franchise will enter the race in the coming days.
