"Best guy in the world": Meredith Gaudreau shares special memories of husband Johnny Gaudreau after the tragic passing

On Sunday, Meredith Gaudreau shared special memories of her late husband Johnny Gaudreau after his tragic death. She is holding onto these memories during this difficult time.

In one memory, she reposted a story from user @juelzsahina where Johnny was dressed as Captain Jack Sparrow. Meredith added the caption,

"Captain Jack comes to every wedding," showing Johnny's fun side.

Meredith also shared an interview of Johnny from the Columbus Blue Jackets. She wrote,

"I don’t know how I got so lucky. The best guy in the world. The best smile ever. His eyes are my favorite. I love you, my husband and best friend."

In another story, Meredith posted a snap of her husband with a sign that read "Welcome Home YiYi!" Meredith tagged @lilyamorris and wrote,

"These two...such a special relationship. I was jealous."

She then shared a wedding photo from @anthony_calabrese17 where she and Johnny can be seen smiling. Meredith included the caption,

"I will always miss your smile and laughs."

Pittsburgh Penguins center Kevin Hayes also took to Instagram and recalled his 14-year friendship with Johnny Gaudreau. He described Johnny as humble, funny and missed by everyone.

"14 years ago I was asked to walk Johnny and Matty around Boston College campus not knowing the friendships I was going to gain. I am so thankful the Gaudreau’s entered my life. Any person who met them truly was happier," Hayes captioned.

Meredith Gaudreau remembers late husband Johnny Gaudreau and brother-in-law Matthew

On Saturday, Meredith Gaudreau made a special post on Instagram following the death of her husband and brother-in-law Matthew Gaudreau. Her caption talked about the close bond between the brothers and noted how Johnny admired Matthew despite being the older brother.

"John and Matty. U don’t hear one name without the other. Always side by side. Even in large group settings, u can find them hip to hip. John’s younger brother- but he looked up to Matty and relied on him for everythinggg. And Matty was always there.

Johnny Gaudreau and Matthew had a good relationship and were not just brothers but also friends. Meredith has vowed to support Matthew’s wife Madeline who is expecting their first child, Tripp, in December.
