The Colorado Avalanche lost 6-2 to the New York Islanders on Monday. This defeat puts their record at 0-3 for the season. After the loss, the Avalanche posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying:

"Regroup for Wednesday."

Fans quickly responded to the team's message, sharing their thoughts and frustrations. Many expressed doubts about the team's performance and called for changes, particularly in goal.

"At what point do you pull the plug on Georgiev?" one fan asked.
"Alexandar Georgiev is a backup goaltender and always will be. Why the Avs keep pretending anything else is foolish. Keep expecting him to 'find his confidence' and you get this," another fan commented.
"Alexandar Georgiev is a complete mess in goal for the Avs. Just guessing and confidence is shot," a fan tweeted.

Here are some more reactions from fans on X:

"The Colorado Avalanche are paying real US currency to Alexandar Georgiev lmfaoooo," a fan said.
"Alexandar Georgiev might be experiencing a Martin Jones-style fall off," a fan suggested.
"Watching the Kings-Sens game earlier felt like there were TWO Alexandar Georgiev's in net," a fan commented.

Brock Nelson shines as Islanders defeat Colorado Avalanche in Patrick Roy's return to Denver

Brock Nelson scored two goals for the Islanders. Ilya Sorokin made 32 saves in his first game back after back surgery. This game was special for Islanders coach Patrick Roy, who returned to Denver after coaching the Avalanche from 2013 to 2016.

The Avalanche took an early lead with Calum Ritchie’s first NHL goal just over a minute into the game. However, Anders Lee quickly tied the game for the Islanders. Kyle Palmieri then put the Islanders ahead. Nelson scored two more goals, including a short-handed one.

The Islanders kept pushing forward. After Casey Mittelstadt scored early in the third period, Anthony Duclair and Mathew Barzal added more goals. The Avalanche must now rethink their strategy before the next game as fans hope for changes this season.

The Avalanche will face the Boston Bruins next. The Bruins have a record of 2 wins and 2 losses, with no wins and one loss in away games. The Avalanche have not won yet, sitting at zero wins and two losses, including zero wins and one loss at home. The game is scheduled for Oct. 16 at 7:30 p.m. MDT. The Avalanche will look to turn their season around against a Bruins team seeking consistency.
