The Edmonton Oilers faced a start to their season which no one must have predicted. The 6-0 defeat against the Jets came out of nowhere for many as the Oilers, who reached game seven of the Stanley Cup finals last season, were fan favorites to win the game and start the season in good form.

Edmonton Oilers injuries

Roby Jarventie joins Evander Kane in the long term injury list for the Oilers with the return for both players looking unlikely for the foreseable future.

Blackhawks and Oilers key players

Youngster Connor Bedard continues his good run in form from last year as the forward has provided two assists in the first two games of ongoing season.

The Oilers are yet to put any goals on their tally this season but have a good arsenal of players on their roster that can get those numbers up. With Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl getting up to pace with the games, its only a matter of time before they start firing.
